Metal Detecting spots in Northeast Georgia

Hey y'all! I live in the beautiful Northeast Georgia Mountains (white county) and am looking for spots to metal detect. I know the laws/rules of the land and what/where I cannot go, but seeing if there was anyone that knew of some spots to go. I love metal detecting and gold panning, not a pro by no means, just love getting out and finding great things! My fiancee is a 100% disabled Veteran and I'm his caregiver through the VA...so getting out and dirt fishing is my stress reliever/me time. Veterans spouses/caregivers need an outlet too Thanks for any info, and happy hunting!

Hi! Yes! I'm in Sautee/Helen.

Some old mills in that area (Helen, etc). You may get permission on some. Ya know the mound, near the bridge South of Helen? Supposed to be a cave running from the River to underneath the mound. That may be off limits though.

PPS, Go up to the headwaters of the Chattahoochee (Above Robertstown) and check down stream for Rafters lost Jewelry.

I love the Old general store in Sautee! Lots of history, and my fav is the story of Sautee-Nacoochee. Didn't k ow about the caev, sounds really cool but I bet its off limits too lol they are suuuuuper protective of anything near the mound.

Yeah there is a man for the past few years that metal detects in the middle of the river in Helen during the peak tubing craziness lol he also dives in the deeper parts, I bet he has found some good stuff!
