Ya it happens.
You finally find gold!....only to find out later, it's not.
I found a "gold" bracelet last year marked 14K and all!
Got home took a closer look, nope, fake. Then I remembered what my detector readings were when I found it. I should have paid more attention to what the detector was telling me instead of what my eyes were seeing.
