I like to wander in the mountains when I backpack, I almost never use trails. I have an idea where I want to go I park the car and me and my dog "Dublin" just head out in a general direction. I run across things every now and then that I think are interesting. Once and a while I find trees with notches cut out by axe or chainsaws. So here are a few of my latest "finds" while out and about. (Everything is above 10,000 ft)

Collapsed Mine, Notch in tree, Bigfoot structure:laughing7: , Dublin !! (heading back down to his water bowl, he was not impressed with the view I guess)

Those are really cool finds! Maybe you should pack a detector along next time and check around the tree and mine.

Big foots place kinda looks like he had a tee pee set up there!
Bet your dog would be a lot more interested if treats were involved!

Get away from the trails out here, and you might stumble onto a pot plantation. I was looking for a site of a battle between soldiers and Indians, well away from any trail, and found a grow that had been harvested. I packed out their hose and some of the other stuff they'd left behind.
