GOLD,what number on the ATgold detector

Have yet to find gold using the AT GOLD detector I've had it for about a year , found plenty of silver but still no gold.. I think I'm not digging the 50's and 60's because of junk.. Am I missing a gold ring at those numbers? I do have a locket that I found that is gold foil and it is 83-86 .. I don't know.. Help

Maybe this will: Excepting chains, I've yet to find gold anywhere on the scale that did not come in solid and true. Very little bouncing of VDIs.

Hello,

I have found gold with VID numbers reading between 38 - 82 (In my experience, most have fallen around 47 - 72) on the Garrett AT Gold. Small chains are usually not clear crisp signals and in most cases are hard to find due to there shape.

Keep in mind, the lower VID numbers will get you more foil, pull tabs...etc. So be very careful what you discriminate out. If in a "clean" site life will be good, but in our usual "trashy" places expect to dig lots of unwanted items for each GOLD find!

Notice small earrings lacking in either wht. gold, yellow gold, or platinum. They'll come in down to iron in some cases.

And the 5 gram gold bar rings in at 80. What would a 1 oz. gold coin beep at? What would that monster gold chain (30 some grams?)posted earlier this year ring in at? Or the monster nugget found recently in Australia?

Wow I knew nickels 53 but it seems all 90 above is junk from construction I'll just have to start digging every thing.. Thanks for the help..happy digging!!

Most of the Gold rings I have found have been in the 40's.
