I really wanted this thread to be about common coins or series not Gold coins or extremely rare coins of any kind my apologies for ommitting this from my title ( moderators , if you think i should trash this thread and start a more specific one , I 'm happy to )

As the OP of this thread , please can we re-set the topic to what I intended - I really was looking for those fairly common (to everyone else) coins that you and I have not yet found .

I also have not found an Indian head penny after years of searching but would really like to find one. I would love to find a trime or 2 cent piece but doubt I ever will in my current location. Persistence does pay off though. I started 2016 wanting to find a Walking Liberty half but thought it would never happen. Now I've found 2 in the last few months. My advice is to keep swinging and dig everything. Over time you will be rewarded. 8-)

I would like to dig an FE, any Capped Bust, and the elusive Morgan Dollar. I'd also love to dig a cut silver during one of my hunts in the East.

Hello Argentium,

I don't have a bucket list for my metal detecting addiction, but if I did, a Pine Tree Shilling would be a nice find.

note if your after indain head cents --you need to leave zinc cents in your detecting notch zone -- take a indain cent and a zinc cent and run the both under your coil you will see why ....notching out the modern zinc cent -is the same as -notching out the indains ....

I have not found any gold coins or a Pine Tree Shilling, I would love to find one of those. I did find and 1916 Egyptian Piaster in my go to ball field which was a pretty neat find.

A V nickel would be nice! I've found 7 Buffs, but never a V nickel. Not right!
