That one is most likely a Counterfeit, and Probably you get what you pay for.

I wouldn't expect to get a new one for under $100.
Even on sale.

But I eat Generic food all the time.
if it is just a Generic Garrett made by the same Company.

Im sure it will work ive been using 20 dollar one from harbor freight for over a year. yeah you have to shake it once and awhile and I tore it apart and tuned it at first would only hit a coin it touched..for 50 bucks let me know if ya get one i might be on board too

Don't think counterfeit so much as a knockoff. All they have to do is change the circuit board enough to not violate a patent or copyright. My big worry would be if they were using rejected components or at the least stuff that was just a little iffy when they hit the test bench.

to be counterfeit it would need to say Garrett
