Was at the beach with my brother just going for a walk, and a few other people were out there MDing. We were stolling along when I got an idea. He was talking saying something about how crazy it is to mine sweep for bottle caps and nickels, when I suddenly stopped walking alongside him. He turns back to see where I went only to see me standing there sniffing the air. "What are you doing", he says?

"Metal detecting" I replied.

He laughed. I just kept sniffing the air and started walking around in circles. Now my brother is looking at me like he thinks i am having a psychotic episode. After a bit I stopped, crouched down with ear to the sand, exclaimed, "Do you smell that!??" then started digging furiously. Got down about six inches and a 1956 Washington quarter comes out of the hole!!! I gave it to him. Boy was he scratching his head!

Of course the silver was planted, I got it in some change the day before. But giving it away was a much fun as finding it the first time.:laughing7:

Perfectly hilarious!!!!

Now the only drawback I can see is who's gonna pay your brothers DR. bill from his sinus infection from all the sand he's snuffled up?

Cmon, you just know he's going to sneak out & try it!
