I purchased two metal candle holders today at a thrift store. It is a shiny ,heavy, metal with a hole drilled for a candle. I think it may be Stainless Steel but not totally sure.
I put one in a measuring cup and it displaces 1/2 cup of water.
I weighed it (in ounces) on my digital scale and it weighs 16.17 ounces.
This is where I need help as I have no idea how to find the Specific Gravity and see if it close to Stainless Steel. BTW, I paid 50 cents each for them. Stickers on bottom = Made in India.http://

Thanks, Marvinhttp://

I used to be able to do this, but it's pretty late. I do know that you have to suspend the candle holder from a string in the water and not just plop it in. I'll see if I can find a video showing you how to do that.

If they're hollow you won't get an accurate measurement unless you can get all the air out.
