Here's what happened to the children. They basically inhale the contents of your wallet for 20 years. You love them dearly but look forward to having a quiet house again and spending quality time with your wife. Then they grow up and leave and you miss them. Then you realise how much more money you have and how much nice time you are spending with your wife and you stop missing them. Then you are grateful to see them, grateful that you could afford to raise them, grateful they are unharmed and grateful to spend time with your wife.
