I'm searching for Rick Vaughan who worked with Mel Fisher

Hello, I'm a newspaper reporter trying to research whatever became of a diver named Rick Vaughan who was a big part of Mel Fisher's Atocha haul.
Rick Vaughan is detailed in this (fascinating by the way) newspaper article from 1992 about searching for treasure in Charlotte Harbor, Florida, then basically disappears from the internet after that.
Anyone have any ideas on how to find him, or any info on what happened to him?
