It will never be perfect. Dust happens. But it will be salvageable assuming my cats don't decide to play with it.

Looks great. I say you either have nice things, OR you have cats. One of mine likes to knock everything down - she just can't help herself. The other one has never broken anything.

I gave up a full size Christmas tree, oops, I mean cat climbing device with pretty balls and lights 20 years ago. I have a tiny one, but not a big one. Jingle, jingle, CRASH!

My wife had a bunch of ornate Christmas tree ornaments - they were very realistic little birds that she hung in the tree. Can you imagine what the cats did to those?

Awesome ship build Smokey! I am glad that I took a closer look at the Thread starting pic! At first, I thought the Cat Climbing Tower or whatever you call it, was the Crow's Nest and I feared that the ship would roll port or starboard if it was ever sailed.:icon_scratch::laughing7:

My Father always wanted a model of a clipper. On one birthday my Mom bought him a very large model. Over 2 feet long.
But as she knew nothing about ships, she had bought a Portuguese merchant ship. Like the difference between a hot rod and a bicycle. For years the ship was in my room. Like you said a real dust collector. One day it was gone and I don't know where.
Today it would get the treatment your giving your ship. Three masted, four jibs, you have an heirloom.

Thanks HVacker. It took the best part of a week. I need to figure out how to anchor the lady at the front, and need to find the rudder. I think it' in the one dresser drawer. First assembled about 1985, some of the thread is not strong anymore.

It's the Thermopalye built in Aberdeen, Scotland, a (for its time) a HUGE clipper ship. Then they opened the Suez canal and all the fun stopped.

You only need a rudder if you know where you're going. :)

Rudder is in my one drawer...under 20,000 other things, but I do know where it is.
