In trying to reduce the intensity and number of vertigo attacks
caused by the Meniere's disease I have to live with, about 15 years
back I discovered that both caffeinated coffee and alcohol were major
triggers for vertigo attacks.

So, with little choice left, the wife started blending decaf and leaded
coffee, and after a couple weeks she had me completely switched over to decaf.

Still drink it from the time I wake up til bedtime... View attachment 1842642

I only get vertigo when I Sleep on my Right side or Back & Get up fast.
I've learned to combat that by getting up slowly & Doing my Head Exercises .

Or roll on my Left side and stay there long enough to Erase the effects before getting up.

Jeff, I believe you're dealing with what's known as "BPPV" (Benign Paradoxical
Positional Vertigo).

https://www.mayoclinic.org/diseases-conditions/vertigo/symptoms-causes/syc-20370055

From the site:

"Inside your ear is a tiny organ called the vestibular labyrinth. It includes
three loop-shaped structures (semicircular canals) that contain fluid and fine,
hair-like sensors that monitor the rotation of your head.

Other structures (otolith organs) in your ear monitor movements of your
head — up and down, right and left, back and forth — and your head's
position related to gravity. These otolith organs contain crystals that make
you sensitive to gravity.

For a variety of reasons, these crystals can become dislodged. When they
become dislodged, they can move into one of the semicircular canals — especially
while you're lying down. This causes the semicircular canal to become sensitive
to head position changes it would normally not respond to, which is what makes
you feel dizzy."

If you're not already familiar with them, there are head exercises
that an ENT can perform that will help..

Yea I do similar maneuvers, but I Don't make quick moves , or make a big production out of it.
I Just slowly, turn head Right, turn head Left, head up, head down, right side tilt, left side tilt, repeat all till I have my balance back.
But I just do it where ever I'm sitting

When using the drip coffeemaker, I prefer Peets Major Dickason blend. I buy both the caff and nocaff and mix my own half caff. When using the keurig I use Green Mountain half-caff pods.:coffee2:

Pot a day (with Ovaltine).
Don...

Don, this thread is about coffee, not Reefer, dude! :laughing7:

One cup in the morning and two on cold days (yes they can happen in Fl.) of Folgers Classic Roast.
Usually with 5 Oreos for my "pastry" and a tablespoon of cranberry/raisin/nut/sunflower seed blend trail mix added to the cup for additional smoothness and enjoyment. Adds an extra element of nutty flavor to the cup.

I Re-use my DW Grounds from my Morning Cup Also.

When I cook frozen meat in my Electric Skillet, I pour the Grounds on top of the piece of Meat. pork, chicken etc.
It not only gives it a nice taste, it seems to revitalize Frostbitten Meat.
since I started doing it, I Haven't tasted Freezer Burn, from a piece of Completely Frosted piece of Meat,
that was in an Unsealed plastic bag for Months.

If I Fry a Frozen Burger I dump the Grounds on it too.

0f course you can't be afraid of having a few pieces of coffee grounds in your mouth :tongue3:
once you dump them in they don't Dissolve :tongue3:
some suggest espresso ground. I'm not that picky.

Beef roast in the slow cooker gets a couple cups of coffee here sometimes. (If I'm cooking...).
Have not used grounds though. Hmmm.

I'm the snob apparently.

I mix the Trader Joe's Dark Espresso beans with SeQuella Grand Gusto. It's too expensive to buy at normal price. My gf shops somewhere where we can randomly pick it up for $17-3lb bag. Normal price is around $60. Yikes.

Kinna snobby, but I drink several cups a day. Cheap coffee is nasty. LOL

I have been enjoying Folgers 1850... the Lantern glow or Pioneer blend (medium roast) $2.49 for a 13 oz bag at our local discount food store. I make about 4 - 5 cups for the day, Cowboy style, boiled in vintage glass Pyrex percolater w/out basket. :coffee:

This describes the cuban coffee culture perfectly....please watch if you love coffee !! Even a gringo like me is proud of our cuban cafe's !!

Those Cuban coffees are something else.

I got me an old Italian espresso pot I inherited from my uncle. I used the Cafe' Bustello fine grind. I used heavy cream, I used sugar. I cannot duplicate a Cuban coffee.

I am beyond drinking it now...

I either smoke a bowl of crushed up coffee beans.... or snort freshly chopped up coffee beans.

Did not care for dipping the grounds... or cheek full...

Turned teeth black.

:P
