Whats the most you've found in a day? Show your numbers!

I think more is being found than we know,please list or show your most finds in a day, here are my totals, most from different days of detecting;

466 coins in one day (actually, most of them in just a few hours). That was one day during the beach storms on the west coast of 1997/98. Of those coins, 46 were silver, over 100 were wheaties. Also got a 1914 $2.50 gold piece that day too. Hundreds of lead targets, keys, fishing sinkers, bullets, etc.... Unfortunately, it was not a very "touristy" beach, so I only had one gold ring amongst all those targets.

I don't remember the amount now, but I did save a pic. Were found with a CZ-20 while wading a swim area at a public beach. The bills were found laying on the bottom by using polarized glasses an I wish I could remember now how much it was. I used to keep a log of what was found, where, and such, but now when I get home I just collapse.

Maybe $1.65

I'm still new, I'll blow those numbers away when I find a good spot and have a full day to do it.

Holy Smokes Sandman!! I could use a find like that right now! lol Never thought about papermoney especially on a dive...that must have been quite a story for sure!

Well, I don't have big actual coin numbers (maybe about 225 coins in a day). Most Quarters in a day have been about 12. but

159 Wheat pennies in one day (no more than 2 or 3 in a hole).

Best silver day was I think 10.

Keep the find posts a coming, I'm impressed! I don't remember the most silver coins in one day, but it was over 100 back in the early seventies,six years ago I found 62 silver coins in a day by a freeway accident...Kane 23 HH

In December 1993 at a 4-H camp outside Swansboro, N.C. my son and I with two new Garrett GTA 500's found over 600 coins in one day. The oldest was a 1894 IH, the greatest majority were clad pennies and dimes, but we also found some silver as well as a couple of silver friendship rings from the 40's/50's. In about forty hours of detecting we eventually took out over 6000 coins. I recently gave the info on this site to a fellow TH'r in New Bern, N.C. and he indicated this site is permanently closed. This was a great site with unknown potential as it consisted of 23 acres of which I only managed to do a fraction of a percentage!!!!!!!!!!

Sounds like a really great site, I'm so sorry you can't go back there, maybe you can find another? Back before they closed the parks in 1972 I found $36.00 face value in silver in three days,can't go there anymore either. HH Kane 23

Hey Kane 23, "$36.00 face value in silver in 3 days"? How many silver coins per day did that work out to, on average? What parks "got closed" to detecting in 1972?

It was alot,I don't remember the exact number because it was so long ago. i remember the total because it made me so happy at the time. Only three or four of the coins were halves,so mostly quarters and dimes. It was a national park in front of the tourist lodge. After 72 they started enforceing the antquities acts in national parks. kane23
