Indoor Searches

I stashed my wife's wedding ring in our house before going on vacation some years back and forgot exactly where I hid it. I have searched all over, but have been unable to locate it and wondered if a metal detector could help. Has anybody used one for an application such as this? If so, what would be the best type of detector to use?

only way i would think would be like this
if you think it's in a narrow place



or with an all metal probe or stud Finder

You could also try Dowsing If you have the Knack.

Dowsing seems to be Selective

Both in who it works for

& in finding what they want & Ignoring what they don't.

(I'm not being Sarcastic) See dowsing section.

Maybe an inexpensive pinpointer would be better.
Not so much interference from wires and stuff.

I hope you didn't take Commercials on
detectors so seariously That you think
one can be set up just to find gold
or that it will tell you what's there before you Dig/look

Any detector you turn on in your house
will go wild, everytime it nears Metal
from any direction.

Electric Lines with power running through them
can also effect a Detector. which Means you may need to
shut the power off.

Probes would be the best for looking behind non metal
things you can't move,
Under non metal things, & Between Non Metal things.
as their Detection Field is much more Limited.
