I found this in a small creek in southwest Iowa.

This is natural but don’t give up. Creeks can be tough. I’ve had a lot of misses lately in creeks. Try where a creek empties in to a major river. I’ve had luck in those spots.

Sorry it is natural, not even sure why you think it is an artifact.

I respect their opinion but I most definitely strongly disagree with those who say it is natural. From my 20 yrs collecting native American artifacts and rock art I immediately recognized your find to be just that. I'm not an expert but I am almost certain by the side profile and the manner it was done it is Portable Rock Art. Things of this nature are becoming more recognized and respected by the archeologists as of recent. They FINALLY recognize the importance of these and the history they hold. Do not treat them as just rocks bc they are so much more than that and should be respected. Great find! I will be posting all of mine in the next few days. I have a huge collection and love to see others that have the "sight" as well.

My 38 years of finding and collecting artifacts tells me it is not an artifact.

I have to somewhat agree with Michelle S

but of course, I'm more open minded, then I am willing to admit
Geologists & archeologists know less than crap about our Planets History
over the last Zillion or so eons the Universe & planets Really were here
Space is Unlimited, so is Time. there can be no Beginning & no end to space & time. without Space & time before & after, Space & time.
Add to that, You can't create something from nothing.
so something had to be here forever. and longer.
    & even before That

    Either way.

    It's a Keeper imo

I do agree with T.H. though that Geofact is the Right place till
    it can be Confirmed 100%

Find it's Twin to show the Artist Existed.

Time to notice what a Member is Talking about.
This one seems So Obvious to Me , I have to say Hmmm !

even looks like it has nicks to look like hair on it's head and chin.

of course ..Sometimes I am so sure Of something &Others here immediately say Geofact,
it Convinces me Mount Rushmore and the pyramids may be Geofacts too

I have thrown hundreds if not a thousand of them back in the creeks and streams of Missouri in the 20+ years of walking creeks, streams, rivers and fields there.

And come to find out a certain percentage of them were actually artifacts that you refuse to recognize.
