Hey, so I was fishing a few years ago and looked down and found this. It looked very odd so I took it home. I tried to research Native American artifacts to see if I could find anything like it and I had no luck. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
That’s a tough one .... the one end looks like it’s been used for smashing or grinding and the impression could be used as a mortar but it’s an oddly shaped one d that’s what it is , any chance of a few pics of the indent / hole in it with some light on it ? I would lean more towards it just being natural stone but I would have brought it home too.
The hole is made by water, either running or constant dripping.I painted a house once that was built in the mid 1600s.They just replaced the old granite block steps.I was looking at the old steps and the granite had holes made by constant dripping water.I wanted those steps. But each block probably weighed 800 to 1000 pounds.
I’m glad I got some answers because I had no idea what it was. When I found it, I immediately thought Native American...Oh well. Still a cool stone that I will keep....Thank you all for the information. Much appreciated.
