Fluxgate Mag ???

Hey Guys....Have been looking at the Fluxgate Magnetometer kit from Fat Quarters Software. I've heard that this fluxgate mag. will not work on the water. Is this true? It is only the problem of coming up with a waterproof housing Seems like a resonable price to have a mag. but nt if it won't work underwater..PLEASE let me know.....

Check out my post on DIY Magnetometer under Shipwrecks (link below). I built the Fluxgate using Carl Morelands setup from Fatquaters and have had great success on the water, but I recently built the one from EPE Magazine by John Becker and have been very pleased with the results also. Plus it adds in GPS and Data Logging. I built both and made the fish interchangeable between both units. They both work good but the EPE Mag is the way to go.
