The Christine Rose is a great idea, but it has the flaw of being limited to the length of the scoop arm. So I was wondering about the potential for a cable drawn dual scoop.

As you can see, this thing is attached to a cable, so there is no arm to limit its depth. The cable would be much longer than the arm. This would allow you to go out much further than anyone else.

of course, it won't be cheap, either. But what do you all think?

ive thought about building a pontoon boat for a 6 inch dredge and going up the Missouri River and going on a 1 hour tour!

I'm installing a 5" dredge with a fluidbed gold and gem sluice that I designed, onto a pontoon boat this year. When it's ready I'll give you a call.

GG~

You'll lose the ability to use it for propulsion.

Yea that never gets old LOL
The Excavator does do something else, it digs hard pack. A drop scoop can't drag. A drag-line bucket could do well.
This is what I want for Christmas.
And a wash plant barge next to it.

And I could use it on land too.
