Spent Wed testing the new Viper Highbanker.
Tests went REALLY well, I'm impressed with it.
(Put a video up last week.)
Then yesterday we were running the 5" dredge with bare mats.
First run of the day was only 30 minutes and WOW... about 3 grams.
Amazing for Georgia.
We found a fractured bedrock ridge.
Then the next run had a BIG surprise.
One of the biggest "flakes" I've ever seen come out of GA since the OLD mining days.
An amazing find for sure.

First...
Here is the Bedrock mat filled with gold.
(We were running 4 types)
I'm still amazed how well this stuff does with screaming water over it.

Next here is the gold from the first 30 minutes.

Last....
Here is the big boy.
A real cornflake for sure.

Well Done Doc! Looks more like a picker to me...wanna see flakes? I'll show you flakes...come look at mine...and bring your loop:laughing7:

Thanks, in Georgia a run like this is a dream run for most, even with larger dredges it's mostly fine placer.
This area does have some pockets of larger gold, you just have REALLY work to get to them and they are scattered around.
This flake and the other piece below are two of my best finds in GA.
Even the commercial op hasn't seen one that large since the 80's when the big plant was running.
It was a fun day for sure and glad some folks were around to enjoy it with me.

Ah the looks of gold, really stirs the insides up! You had some good fun there as well as a good pocket and that flake is a real talking about item! I would say your matting is working well. Thank you for sharing.............................63bkpkr
