in august my 2boys and i are going in search of the lost murdie lode... supposably still an exposed 15" vein somewhere up there. ive been stomping those grounds since i was a kid and have traveled many of the roads, i know the terrain pretty well. i just gotta figure out what kind of metal detector to get that i dont need to take a mortgage out on my house for. i would figure a $300 to $600 should be good i would think.

You don't want a pinpointer for trying to find a vein, you need a full size MD unless I missed something, I hesitate to suggest a brand really I want a whites PI but that's more expensive and prob not good for what your doing, maybe a bounty hunter I have a cheap one and I can find blacksand "nonpaystreaks" with it just fine:)
