The series, centering on gold miners George Wright and Scott Lomu, will have its season-two premiere at 10 p.m. ET on Sunday, Aug. 11.
The pair return to face Ghana's notorious rainy season, armed militia, road blocks and treacherous jungle as they attempt to mine enough gold to pay off their debts and provide a future for their families and for the widow and family of Wally Macias, their former mining partner who died before realizing their dreams of striking it rich.

I feel sorry for the father in law that supposedly loaned money to the looser son in law and his hapless friend and now has no chance at pay back. Unless Discovery pays him.

Dave also turned out not to be the rich gold mogul that he was portrayed to be but only another hustler just trying to get by.

GG~

The Story he Tells the News, the father in law got scammed on a 1.5 million dollar flip :laughing7:

Then he sends them over telling them about Flipping gold.
their main purpose was to go Flip gold also,
But once there they got the Gold bug & wanted to mine.

father in law was non too bright either,
& must be worth a small or large fortune

It's been driving me nuts. They never owned that abandoned blue trommel, did they?

I mean if they had, the expensive part is that freakn drum. So replace the running gear and motor and off you go.

Otherwise, toss the drum and add screens and you didn't need to buy all that metal to make a wash plant.

it was obvious they were completely Lost in what they were doing,
But probably would still be over there Mining if not for the Discovery Channel.

From everything said, the reason the Government Clamped down
was because of the way Discovery Channel Portrayed the Government & it's People.

That's why only They & the Camera Crew ended up with arrest warrants on them.

I wonder if they are Free now, or IF the US will force them to trial
if requested by the African Government.

I also wonder if heads are on the Block for letting them Slip through Customs

Jeff, I have very little doubt that the entire "wanted for illegal mining" was completely made up.

No if you follow the links I posted on page 3 the Minister for Lands and Natural Resources really did issue warrants for their arrest. A smart person would never attempt going back after what happened. Yet once again they proved their level of intelligence by vowing to go back. Maybe the show will morph from "Jungle Gold" to "Jungle Jail". That might be worth watching.

Sorry, I didn't make it clear I didn't believe the "news" stories either.

there was news reports shown on the show.
I know they could have been Faked, but if that were the case
that would be easily confirmed, by people who are familiar with
the area they were located.

I tend to believe the Arrest Warrants were put out there,
but I believe it was for Political reasons they wanted them arrested.

they most likely believe if they had them in custody, they could get
some type of butt smoochin' from our government.

the Shows hadn't aired yet, so unless they announced to the finance minister's
people when applying, for permits, how much gold was believed to be on their land,
not sure if Theft of property was involved.

I still wonder Dave's involvement. Maybe a scam he uses.
get wealthy foolish Americans to finance tests, then scare them out.
funny how everything came down after they called him on the Permits,
& told him he's not trusted.
Foreigners always use the Religion card in their scams, & he was claiming to be a preacher building a Church :tongue3:

I agree though, would be Suicide to go back in this lifetime

They are both chatting away happily and making jokes on Twitter.

I don't do Twitting so, I'll never see it,
So thanks for the heads up on that

I hope Jungle Gold goes the way of Blood and Oil. Cancelled.

I'm not going to root against anybody but it would be nice if people going overseas representing us as American's would be respectful to the people involved and try not to let greed get in the way of good business ethics. If we are seen as untrustworthy mining partners long term because of a few tv shows that would be a shame.
