A friend sent me about 6Lbs of raw gravel from their creek.
The wife and I panned it out and found this!!

I'm in the process of making a miller table, just need a few more additions to start catching the fine gold.

This was my first time panning by the way. Nothing like seeing that yellow peek out of the black sand!

Sleeper... Welcome to the forum! Nice amount of color for 6 Lbs of raw material! If your friend is also in Texas, DON'T ever say where he's at! I know some guys out there that would just about kill to be able to find gold like that in the Lanno River!

Thats .2 grams per 60lbs, thats 1 gram per 300 pounds, basically 7 grams per yard. Idk somethings fishy. I think your friend salted your dirt. See how all the pieces are the same size. Definitely not raw dirt. If it is mine it. You could retire in 1 season. And make $1000 an hour with a 4" dredge with ground that rich

He told me that this came from behind a big boulder, seems like the flakes I got would be what's trapped behind there. You experienced gold hunters would know better than me. Either way, salted or not, I'm happy finding my first color! There were some tiny tiny specks I saw in the pan, but I left them in so I can try out my miller table with some cons that I know has gold in it.
I'll post some pics when I get it up and running.
