Consider this a Public Service Announcement for "buying locally" for holiday gifts. The Western Mining Alliance has stayed barely
solvent by selling hats, logos, backpacks, etc. While they have never asked for donations for themselves, they do ask you to support the PLP, and other organizations fighting for our survival. They have a sponsor page in their monthly newsletter. I noticed a new sponsor recently who will use your placer gold to make rings and other jewelry items(page 29). Very very good newsletter. My hats off to these guys, and all the others putting their own butts and future finances on the line. Tis the season to overspend and buy a bunch of junk. Might as well redirect a little of that money in a direction that pays dividends later. They have put a ton of work into this and it shows.
