Looks to be 7.5 hours from my place. Me and a buddy or two want to come. Near Sutters mill? Cool! What is the name/address of the place (or coordinates) so I can see it? I have a 4 man tent. We would be there Fri @ 4 pm and leave Monday 8 am. Would all that work on your end?

no reservation or deposit...I ask at this point that anyone expecting to go is going to put in an "even steven" share, which is still gonna be way affordable. compared to finding a commercial campground/hotel....once again there is no fee for the dig spot. any cost incurred is for the bbq/ T-shirts really. and if we decide to make a donation to the property owner. All financial discussion and requests to cover cost will be made by P.M. I actually have some gifts planned for attendees. Maybe not all family members but, the " Miners" for sure. I do want to know how many kids so we can plan some activities if needed. All I hope to gain from this is the chance to get a nice group of us together in person. And give you guys a chance to have an awesome inexpensive Prospecting related weekend. we will be camping in a 5 acre meadow surrounded by the foothills. I'm not giving out the address yet. But, you can Map search Mountain View Dr. Lotus Ca. If you want to see the general spot.

Thanks for the work you have put in to this event. I know some of the details and I know some are still being worked out. The single fee for all the stuff is a good idea. You may consider a date to cutoff the availability for that because of deadlines in suppliers and such. There might be a reduced fee for those who want to cook for them selves. I will be participating fully. Also a question for availability on "check in" and "check out" in case of early arrivals, or someone who wants to travel home Monday. One more question for those coming from out of the area would be what prospecting equipment is allowed in the camping area, dig spot, region?

Once I have a firm headcount for the bbq I can cost it out. and add that to the T-shirt cost. Pans only on the camping property and hand tools. The common dig is whatever you want.Sluice, pan, sniping, detecting. Come and go as you want from the campsite. we will just have a map and a general "Hey, we are gonna be here from whenever to whenever" I am gonna be at the Summit most of satuday and am going to the offsite on Monday. I think the bbq should be Saturday night, because some guys are gonna likely have to leave Sunday especially with school age kids. I wish we could do potluck but, the people traveling in will have a hard time with that. so we can keep it simple, a lot of kick ass ribs...beans, tater salad and rolls..I can store some stuff at work so a few of you local yokels that wanna buy, make and contribute a food item and get it to me Friday I can pick it up when I get the ribs from my work. Your share will be adjusted accordingly. I can get a Keg of coors and a tap from work the keg will run around $110.00 or Byob...I just need to know if we want a keg about a week out. That goes for food also I can Order anything Sunday and have it Monday.

Considering this event is less than a mile from Todd's place and about the same from my house, we may have to drop by if we can get away from the Mining Summit for a bit. I'm kind of wondering the exact details, as I grew up on Mountain View!

Went out to Folsom lake today, stopped at Skunk Hollow on the Salmon Falls road. I thought people interested in the CA TNet weekend might like a taste of some Folsom lake gold (and a thread bump in case it got lost). Found a crevice that had been worked over, but whoever worked it took the easy stuff and missed a big pocket right next door. I only had about an hour of daylight left, but managed to fill one pan and got some decent sized flakes out of it. Can't wait to get back next weekend with my big pry bar and clean it out properly.
