This was after about 15 gallons of 1/2" classified material. Was also my first time out with the bgt. 4th trip ever gold prospecting. Panned out by hand. I'm sure I could improve my recovery methods.

nice work, save your heavies and plan to go thru them again after you gain more finish panning experience. Based on the fine gold you are catching (good job!), I'm betting there's more fly poop sized gold in your concentrates still :)

Current was trying to tote it off! I really want to figure out how to not have to stack rocks. Mainly so I can see the V and watch gold trickle down...

Sent from my Galaxy S4 while driving with my knee...

With the tapered shape of the BGT just wedge it with the same size rocks you used to weight it down. My 48" prospector doesn't go anywhere positioned like this, even in very fast water.

Good job, fun huh?

Wedge is definitely the way to go... helps you avoid all that awkward "get this rock on top of the sluice while holding the sluice in place" sitcom that happens too... :)

Hello, When flow is a little more than you need, build a wing dam to wedge the bazooka in there. Next, use rocks that are the size you have weighing down the sluice to divert some water away. You can then gauge how much flow is the right amount. You want V and X ripple patterns to flow through your sluice. Happy hunting git'n the gold! :2barsgold:
