I worked hard on maui looking for placer gold and found none. On the north beach I found maui diamonds. Maui diamonds are only quarts pounded round in the surf. The native hawaians DO NOT like to see people using metal detectors on their beaches.

Never stopped me once and been on 4 of them numerous times detecting. Gold hahaha yes on the beach beach and tourist pockets. I know of dozens who have lived there for up to 40 years and never a speck. I guess that's why it's called paradise as no gold fever John

I thought about bringing my detector with last time. Stupid me brought my fishing rod with instead. I thought I would catch sharks. Turns out sharks are sacred to hawaiians. and, not a good idea to be fishing for them. So, no fishy, no detecty for me.
