I was wondering if anybody has ever done any panning on Smith river in Oregon or any of the creeks running to it and if you ever found anything

First off..welcome to TNet...

I found an old thread on a fishing forum that goes into pretty
good depth about some of the panning areas near the Smith
and other rivers in that area. Might be worth a read:

Not yet I have been to the sixes and up in powers area but have not yet found much more than flour gold.
