information on todays best avenues of gold extraction from hard rock.
For visible gold: Usual accepted method is to crush, grind, classify, concentrate then recover through gravity methods. In some cases smelting of bulk concentrates may be the best option.

As far as leaching: There are several different, multistage chemical methods depending on ore type and character and these are probably best left to professionals. One, because of safety. Two, expense for necessary, specialized, equipment and chemicals. Three, because they already know what they are doing. I think DIY'ers usually have a steep learning curve and are likely to waste money on failed processes and experiments. Just my opinion but good luck on what ever you do.
