Nope. It is limestone just like Florida so the only gold is the jewelry lost by tourists. Bring a metal detector!

Always remember in Mexico 1 lousy artifact will get you life in a mexican jail. Seen it up close to friends twice and NO friggn' joke man. Leave your detector at home and just party down and check out the Mayan ruins,great tequilas and warm beaches-John
