I am going to share my secret. Thank you all for welcoming me into your world, and I thought I would share a bit of mine. I will let the pictures do the talking and speak for themselves. In all, I dredge 35 buckets of black heavy concentrates yielding about a GRAM of gold each bucket. IN ONE DAY!
If you happen to have access to a rock wash plant, or know someone who has one, it never hurts to ask if you can clean it out. I have never had an owner say no. They are just as curious about the yield as you already know it is going to be. It is a gold collector. Enjoy! 05-10-07_1451.jpg IMAG0308.jpg IMG_20160120_163526.jpg IMAG0306.jpg IMG_20160120_163547.jpg IMG_20151016_120937.jpg IMG_20151007_130155.jpg IMAG0750.jpg IMAG0746.jpg IMAG0744.jpg 05-10-07_1506.jpg IMAG0309.jpg

Cool idea about cleaning out rock plants. I assume these are from operations that produce gravel?

Also, I notice that you have the picture of a high banker with riffles, that pours into a sluice with riffles. Other pictures have a Le Trap. If I were to bet, the Le Trap gets more of the fine gold. Just an opinion, you would get better fine gold recovery in the riffle sluice by removing the riffles.

I have thought about this process since I sold my gravel operation in 2003 , I had lots of black sand and wished I had put a good sluice setup of my sand conveyer . I ran over 500 yards per hour for 23 years . there is no telling how much Gold that was run though my plant .:BangHead:

The Le Trap is a great gold trap for a plastic fantastic. It does catch more than the riffles. I just set the sluice box up like that because I had just got the Le Trap and had not built the platform yet. Here are pictures of the platform I made for it before the angle iron frame around the Le Trap. 1st trial with it running with the angle iron frame- and it works great for me. Notice the refrigerator parts!!! LOL!!!

I like to build my own equipment platforms to save money, I do buy my gold traps and mats though. There are some good ones on the market and that is one aspect that has got to function properly.

You would not necessarily have to run a sluice during your production day. It seems like the gold drops rapidly to the bottom during running the plant. If you dredged it once a month- you would have got it all. (That is my perception, not fact) i could be wrong.

Nicely done! And happy to hear the report on fines as I too use the LeTrap on a home made stand. It's one of the things I love about this passion is finding a way to git her done!

The materials supplier in Douglas, AZ has his plant right on top of a placer area. Not only does he have the area claimed, he's also got it leased for the gravel works. I don't know if they're doing any gold recovery, but if they're not....... I should have checked into it when I was living down there.

When I joined the Army I took an oath to protect this country from enemies both foreign and domestic. To the best of my knowledge I've never been relieved of that oath and will continue to follow it to the best of my ability............. This is refreshing to know, I am afraid to say, there are several who will support tyranny and pull the trigger.

Very nice video, and I actually saw it some time ago. Well done! Are you pleased with the Le Trap???? For me, it really gets to the concentrates with little to no gold escaping. Kudos!

Good way to repurpose certain things, and that little Le Trap has caught a lot of sassy gold for me too.

All the best,

Very cool that people are just letting you do that. Is it a one time deal? Once they see what you pull out I would imagine so.

Freddy Dodge does this same thing. In Colorado Fred takes heavies from the many sand and gravel operations and tables it. Most of the sand and gravel opps have someone doing this these days.

I am in the industry so have generally had the keys to the gate, however, there are a lot of owners who are curious about the process and the yield of their own equipment. The biggest problem is insurance liabilities. Everyone is afraid of law suits. I have never had an owner tell me no yet.
