Prospecting gold in sudbury

hey guys im a prospector in Sudbury Ontario...love all the info shared on here..I have a few claims staked which are all hard rock..there are some creeks id like to detect around for gold..problem is the gold here is usually fine and there are numerous metals in the rock..ive use 14k rings to identify what gold sounds like detecting..should I test the sound with some pure gold?..will it make a difference?any info would be greatly appreciated yhx

I would think you need to run over some hot rocks also , if you have any pure gold put it in a plastic bag and bury it 4 or 5 inches in a place you are prospecting and adjust your detector for the best results .
