Economic Possibilities of Mining in the Wichita Mountains

Like so many other bonanzas the wealth found there was in mining investors - not minerals.

Other than some small silver deposits it seems none of those miners managed to make a profit from the many minerals found there.

It might be a good place for the small prospector to make a few bucks on a weekend but we will never know. It's all either private property, Wilderness, Wildlife Preserve or military reservation. With the possible exception of the Wilderness areas, or permission from a private property owner, it's all off limits to prospecting.

Here's a MAP.

Clay I have buttered up all the land owners on the only creek that has color and locked it up this is in my backyard.

I knew that okbasspro but I wasn't going to blow your cover. It's a special thing to be able to mine gold in Oklahoma.
In the future you are going to have to check your truck for GPS trackers before you go dredging. :laughing7:
