Not stamped?
Is it stamped? A good sign but not always stamps are faked
Is it magnetic? Or very light? Most plated rings are magnetic very light rings would be junk alloy
Does it make the fourth toe on your left foot tingle? Almost always a sure fire test.

Other than the above, you can get a gold acid test on eBay cheap and have it around to test gold items. I have one and live by it. Or take it to a pawn shop and tell them you want a loan on it. No gold no loan

Do a scratch test on the underside of a ceramic toilet tank. Streaks gold then at least gold plated.

LOL The toilet tank lid on the water reservoir on the back of the unit if it is ceramic as most are. If not that then the unglazed side of a ceramic tile.

LOL no need for that, best way us acid test.

You can buy acid test kit cheap, it comes with a test stone, you draw a small line with the gold ring then test it with acid, acid comes 10k, 12k, 14k, 18k 22k and 24k, start with drop of 10 k, if it disappears it is at least 10k, then retest with next higher grade, when acid mo longer makes line disappear it is the previous acid test grade.

Here is link with video.
