Some one search the patent # and see what it was.

This is a machine designed to recover gold from sand. It was invented by Albert Trayman.
The sand was heated to dry it then fed into a pot of molten lead. the sand was moved to the bottom of the pot. This mixture was mechanically agitated. The theory is the gold being heavier then lead would move under the lead and the sand being lighter would be floated off the top of the lead. The gold would be drawn off the bottom of the pot.

This might sound like I am making it up but it comes directly from the patten.

Your more likely to get a fusion of the gold and lead. After all, gold is soluble in molten lead.

I get the feeling that this machine never really took off, and that they were probably all scrapped on or near the place where I found them. I still can't find any other reference to it or the company on the tag.
