I'm a rookie at this game and I have found a lot of this ore material, but I'm not sure what it is. It has a red metal look to it. Any feed back would be great. I'm in middle north Georgia on the widest part of the Georgia gold belt I'm thinking copper, but not sure.

It does kind a look like the gold ore found in the mines of Dahlonega.

What I see looks very interesting, do you own the land you found it on ? If so do you know if you could mine the land? Some of the minerals I am seeing could indicate gold . The largest amounts of gold in the US are not the nuggets you see in a pan. E mail me directly and we can talk more about it. If someone gives you a clue let me know. People do buy these types of rocks as art , so try to keep them in as large a piece as possible, and keep the quartz attached. I am new to this site .
Happy New Year,

Some tests would help us further.

Can a knife scratch it? If rubbed against an unglazed piece of porcelain, what colour do you get?
