All in a day's work

Here are a couple of pictures of my main mine and ore processing plant. I don't post as often as I should mostly because of work. Once you are in gold, that is it, you are in for life.

I am so grateful for the opportunity to do what I do. The area we mine and mill is so incredibly mineral rich it makes every day mining and prospecting very interesting. Small scale mining where I am is very basic and can be very rewarding. Each mine we process ore for has amazing potential, all the ore we process is dug by hand! Imagine what machines could do!!, Anyway here are some pictures........ feel free to ask any questions.

Save some money and buy equipment as you can. A mini excavator may seem like a waste of money due it's size but it doesn't get tired like a human. It can just keep digging and ore is money. The more ore processed, the more money you can make.

I like the stamp mills. Don't see them used to often anymore.

An excavator is a great idea but very expensive I have however just brought a compressor with jackhammer so that should be in high demand among the miners...

Stamp mills are very common in Southern Africa, many miners prefer them to ball mills etc as they can see whats happening inside. Many local miners believe rightfully or wrongly that recovery on a stamp mill is better than from a ball mill, they believe that some gold sticks to the internal liners of a ball mill.

The only thing I can see with a stamp mill is the height if the sides. If they are not high enough, then there is the possibility of gold splashing out. Whatever way works to liberate the gold from the rock is the right way. Lots of different ways to do it. Just have to find the cheapest and most reliable way to do it.

So are you just crushing, and sluicing over a mercury plate? Is your ore free milling? If you could elaborate on your refining and recovery I'd be super appreciative. Are you pouring Doré's on site?

Hi PcZim, I have never found that true, im any event it would soon become saturated, then no more and you can clean it up easily. at the end.

Gold is grand, but don't neglect gems and minerals. Sometimes things that seem rather dull and ordinary can be worth more than gold!
