It's which record book and which page in that book the original location notice was recorded in at the County Recorder.

If you have the original location with the recorder's stamp you will find the book and page noted on the front (usually top) of the first page of the notice. If you have online access to the County Recorder you can usually look it up there. Some counties have gone to a serial number so there will be only one number, just put that in where you would normally put the book and page in.

On Land Matters mining claim maps there are links in the information return where you can click right into the County Recorder's office - and sometimes get copies of the location documents etc.

On those same maps if you click for information on your claim there is a column for the "County Book & Page" number. If the BLM already has the number it will be there, if they don't you will need to go through the recorder's office.
