...if you want to buy twice as many batteries, get the MX5... tone roll abilities which makes is a billion time "better" to audio hunt with...If more segments of disc is what you think is important...no matter if can park a bus in one of em!
Personally I don't really care what you get. I'm not vested either way! Enjoy!
Just trying to get objective facts and weed out the exaggerations. In some cases I need to turn up my discriminator a notch or two to weed out which of your comments might be helpful. But it is stimulating to see your passion about the tools of a hobby.

One other point in favor of the Garrett that I've noticed is the abundance of Garrett AT Pro training videos.

That is appreciated by those new to the equipment - something that Whites seems to be lacking, especially for the MX5 at the moment.

Old thread new reply

I am just wanting to know if anyone has experience with both of these rigs and how they compare on all levels???

I am almost sold on the AT Pro but I wanting to see how the MX5 stacks up.

Please no talk about "get this or get that" (unless maybe it sin the same $500 price range, no less no more) over the two that are already stated here ... I know many others may be better but this is the Only price range I am staying at currently and the only two I am currently considering.

Thanks you so much for any comparison you can provide on these detectors as far as side by side, pros & cons, and overall thoughts and results.

The MX5 is the way to go even over the mighty MXT Pro. Better in Iron faster recovery speed. Don't pay attention to the vid just listen switch between 8 and 2 tone killer machine underrated.
