Engine Block Cooking

Got a long trip to go detecting, gold prospecting or camping. Wouldn't it be great to have a hot meal ready and waiting for you when you arrive at your destination? Then prepare yourself a meal, wrap it in foil and place it on your engine manifold to cook it. They've been doing this since the Model T cars were built. Of course, if you've got a RV then you won't have to do this. I'll have to try this sometime on my Ranger truck when I drive from Central Florida down to Englewood, FL.

it will work i used to do that when i went off roading in a 4x4 club, pork an beans etc...

Make sure it's wrapped up good and tight. You don't want mechanically flavored meat and potatoes.

We did that in the Army with C Rations. I will tell you that if you put a can on the manifold make sure you put about three or four small holes in the top because it will explode if you don't. Personal experience.
