I found what I believe is an old

I am wondering if there is any way to find information enough from it that I might be able to return it to its respectful owner or a family member?

    Thanks for your help.

We just had one of these about a month ago. I think that one was Korean War era.

Elisha Pruitt Jr. has O pos blood type.

T-50 means 1950 was when he had his last tetanus shot. The P stands for Protestant, not positive. Also, if it was Navy, there would be a USN on the same line as the P.

I have no idea what the T-50 means, but the other is O Positive as already stated. One last thing. This Pruitt name sounds familiar for some reason. Have we already seen this tag before?
I was drafted early '68 and my no. was also 536-------. But in late 68 the Army changed from service numbers to "social security numbers" and issued new dog tags. Tony

This all worked out great! Here is a flurry of correspondence I had with Markeisha Washington, Elisha Pruitt, Jr's granddaughter. Thank you very much Bramblefind!

Re: I found what I believe is an old "dog tag" .. (YAY!! It's on its way home!!)

Ask her if she could send you back a picture of her receiving it. We would love to see it.

Do you have a story of where and how you found it?

    THE FINAL REUNION

I just wanted to let you know that his granddaughter received the tag and was very grateful for it. Here is the photo she sent me of her holding it. (I guess she took it of herself in the mirror).

Thanks again for all of your help!
