September 2005 I found a 1951 high school ring in a lake in New York State. I contacted the high school and through the initials they found the owner who had lost the ring in 1951. The ring had been lost for 55 years. Since then I have had the opportunity to not only return the ring to the owner but to also meet him in person. Below is a picture of the ring and other items I found with the metal detector I used that day. Better pictures and the entire story is in the February 2007 issue of Western & Eastern Treasures.
Congrats Goldgrubber,
Great find and getting it back to the owner makes it even better. It just make me feel better knowing that if a ring lost in 51 can be returned than the one I lost in 63 might someday come back to me.
YOU MEET THE NICEST PEOPLE WITH A METAL DETECTOR!!!!!!!
