Hey there! Visited an historic home site for the second time and will soon be giving a display case of finds to the city that allowed me to detect there. Governor Thomas Fletcher was the first Missouri born governor and was also a Civil War hero. We found some relics at the property last month but went back today and I'm glad we did! I detected an area near a creek bed a little farther away from the house and came up with a sterling silver spoon with a patent date of 1903. Better yet, the spoon had an engraved initial on it which appears to be an "F" which may directly tie the find with the family of the governor himself. I was ecstatic to say the least and got to enjoy a day off with my son who happened to be there with me and verified the spoon being silver and the initial.
Hope you all find a little treasure this week!

I think doing this would qualify it for an honorable mention, no? I know the original owner is long gone but the intention and sentiment are the same. At any rate, it gets my vote.
Natman- Nice finds and a great effort put forth for the house museum. I remember when you posted the hanging light support for ID. I love the display box.
