Did My Good Deed For The Day, Gold Ring Found
Woke up early to hit some garage and estate sales down here in Clearwater FL this weekend.
At the last place I visited, I started talking to the seller about a couple items he was selling that I had dug detecting.
He mentioned that his wife lost a gold ring almost ten years ago, and was curious if I could find it.
Drove home, grabbed the detector, and went back to the sale.
Had to wait for about an hour, we got hit with a nasty lightning storm.
Once it cleared, I had the wife show me roughly where she thought she had lost it.
She mentioned that a couple other people had tried looking for it,but gave up.
Took about 5 minutes and 3 holes dug before I retrieved it.
Only a couple inches deep, which surprised me.
Down here in Florida, items can really sink deep in the sand.
But it seems that the lawn grass has so much root mass, that it acts like trap for items dropped.
Felt great seeing gold in my hand, been a decent while since that happened.

Thanks everyone, appreciate all the kind responses.
It's always worth it just seeing the look of happiness when you hand over something someone has cherished.

I vote honorable mention as well. It feels good to return things and it helps the rest of us by giving metal detecting a good reputation. Thanks for your good work, stay safe and keep swingin.
