Had a great woods hunt this morning with Twistidd, Treasure Fiend & Kimsdad
and I'm happy to report that everyone didn't leave empty-handed

One of my first targets was the top half of an old lip-stick tube that crumbled
in my hand after I had dug it and when I re-scanned the hole, I found a brass key
that was probably from the same owner of the lip-stick. Just to be sure, I scanned
the hole again and was still getting a strong signal. . . I'm glad I did because it
turned out to be a Standing Liberty Quarter. . . I'm happy even without the date

My last finds of the day were a Pigeon Tag and a 1946 Wheat.

Thanks for looking,

Congrats on a great find, Mark!!!  :icon_king:

That grove has been really good to you! Now I've got "quarter fever"!

It was a fun hunt - the only bad thing is that I only saw Kermit & Joe from a distance. Hi guys!

I'm glad we got out - rain tomorrow and snow tomorrow night.... :(

Beautiful SLQ Watercolor! I also dug a couple bird bands yesterday and one was from the same club as yours. ER is from the East Rockford club and your bird was hatched in 1986.

Nice quarter! You are too modest. When you called, you asked how we were doing, and I said I didn't find much, you? And you're like, eh, yeah, a standing liberty...and I was like, WOW!!! Man, what a rush that must have been! Is that your first SL??

Use that link Lowbatts posted, that's what I used to identify the two bird bands I found last year.

We have got to get together again soon!

Joe
