7-27-09 Picnic Grove only found """ 12 Cents """

Got a little bored this morning so I decided to go do a short hunt over at the " Picnic Grove".
( Haven't seen the raging bull over there since he last had a few words with Neil and I and then he booted us out )
Kinda glad and then in a way I'm not. I really want to hear what he has to say when he see's me still hunting.
Anyway I was there for just over an hour and found only 12 Cents. :BangHead:
1st target was an 1894 IH and an 1897 IH only a few inches away. :blob10:
About a foot away was a 1893 Barber Dime. :wav:
This is only my 2nd Barber coin from here.
All the signal were broken up signals. I'm glad I dug them....Plus I slowed my swing down a bit..
I think that's why Saturdays hunt was unsuccessful as far as silver goes. I think I was swinging to fast....Live and Learn..

Thanks for looking......

Those are great finds. Those Indians look delicious! Did you try taking a bite out of the one on the right? That Barber is awesome as well! 12 cents, but 12 cents in the late 1800's!

Hey Bob, WTG!!!   Great old coins!

Guys told me, and told me again - slow down! It's hard to do when you're in a hurry! :-\

I still catch myself going too fast.

Now that you've had a good night's sleep, how about breaking out your magnifier and giving us a closeup of all the detail on that Barber...

Bob,
Great hunt!!! That Barber dime has been all to elusive for me, so far.
I kinda wished you would have run into that guy as well to hear what he had to say.

Great hunt Bob! That's the way I like to see those barbers come out!

Regarding the sweep speed, I found on Saturday that I didn't have to go too slow. I just had to keep my ears open for the right peeps coming through, and then go back and investigate each signal that sounded right. I'm sure I was missing some stuff, but the trick is to keep moving until you get the right signals, and don't get hung up on surface clad or falsing iron.

Super coins. I go about 3 times slower with my etrac then when I first got it 3 months ago. Makes a big difference in trashy areas.
