Congrats on that dime. Looks like it's in great shape too. Do I see a full "Liberty" on the headband?

Congratulations on the find! It should indeed be on the banner, but, I am afraid it wont get up there.

Excellent find!!! I would put it on todays finds, if not already there for more Banner votes.

Re: Rare key date barber dime 1895-0

Thanks everyone for the congrats, I swung my old detector past this same spot at least 20 times. first time thru with the e -trac a jumpy number signal at 6"-7 " but it just sounded so right. I don't know if I'm thinking right but I think I'm siding more with the audio signal then the numbers

Re: Rare key date barber dime 1895-0

Neil I think you are "sound" in your thinking bud...numbers are just a guide.....when at the max depth for the area and soil type etc or the coin is turned just so the numbers will be jumpy.....also if there is more than one target under the ground in close prox....the numbers can be off....if the signal responds on the same area it very well could be a good target..in those cases I always dig, thats what where out there for isnt it,to dig holes....lol....sometimes it is iron, say several old nails bunched together....but if you dig those iffy's you will be rewarded from time to time.....
