Iowa laws?

Hey everyone,
Just getting started in the metal detecting hobby and would like to know what some of the laws are regarding metal detecting in Iowa. Thanks for any information.

State land/parks are basically off limits. Cities and counties are more lenient. My town is "anything goes" just about. If it doesn't say I can't then I don't ask. No sense stirring up rules that don't exist.
