Help with ring

Hello, I have posted this in another forum, but thought this one might be best concerning a ring I found. I found it where a Civil War battle had taken place though Im sure its not that old. Inside the ring says TCJ110k. I understand that the 10k is for the amount of gold in it, however does anyone know what kind of ring this is? How old? Who made it? Any information would be great. Thanks!

Looks like a signet ring, They usually have initials on them and they may have worn off if found in the dirt.Nice find.

Thanks for the help Leprechaun. I looked up Signet ring and it looks a lot like it. Any idea on the age range for mine?
