Aspen trees are easy to mark. Out here, some of the early 20th century carvings were from Basque sheepherders, with mostly the year that they occupied a meadow, with an occasional artsy carvings. My pics are on SLIDES, and haven't digitized them, but rest assured, your carvings mean so much more...!

You are going to have to post a picture. There is alot more clues on the tree. Open up a file and go to gallery or album. Go east and you will find another sign. Look for big turtle rock! Go towards water creek stream! UNUSUAL rocks in water!
