If he has located what he feels is a major cache site, he is in a good position to confirm his suspicions, because IMO the caches (his site and others) are likely to be opened and recovered within the next year or three.

I couldn't agree more with your assessment but for different reasons. I mean, hell, the idiot who's being nominated by the incoming administration to be head of the EPA is someone that actually sued the EPA and had an ax to grind against that agency, so talk about putting the fox in the henhouse not just for the EPA, but National Parks management, and everything else you can think of.

It'll be a free for all, but not for ordinary people, only for corporations that will "buy" up great swaths of National Parks land and declare them absolutely off limits to hiking or exploration while they conduct drilling and/or mining. It doesn't matter whether any of those lands contain anything worth drilling or extracting, they will still remain off limits to hikers, and goons for hire will only be too glad to rough up or shoot any interlopers.

The Koch brothers whose fortune come from coal and oil, have been trying for many years to eliminate the national parks- and they'll probably succeed with the new administration.

And if anyone thinks I'm joking, here comes the first of many bills timed to arrive on the president's desk right after the current one leaves.

Bill proposed is first Native American land grab in 100 years

May not be.

Tonight it just came out the Koch Bro's are behind the CIA trying to undermine Trump. I don't know where your from, but, I welcome some relief from the mass takeover by the Government of our lands. The mining companies gave up the lands being used as wilderness long ago and outside of the country interests have control of ALL mining claims left in the west. I would rather see the land go to Citizens instead of non American's. As per the 1872 mining act as it should be. Only with the twist of being from here to claim it. And the EPA? They need to be "Neutered". I just love to see the people who've been running this nation into a gay toilet for eight plus years coming unhinged. It make's my day!

most of the wilderness area's need to be turned back over to the people...they were illegally deemed wilderness

I would welcome most (not all but most) of the Federally held land being turned over to the states where it lays. IMO the Feds have no business being the largest title holder on the planet.

Hey Deducer, The EPA needs some taming. Its way out of control.

Does this fella look like he's decimated by the effects of Climate change??? Credits to the photographer who has a new exhibit of Arctic critters. Amazing work.

Come on Old, that's equivalent to showing a picture of healthy African elephant and claiming there's no such thing as illegal ivory poaching.

Ernie, exactly why does the polar bear need ice in the first place ? Can't it adapt to other forms of seal hunting ? Incidentally has anyone asked the Seal what ttey think of that ?

All my life I've shopped for food in stores. The loss of that familiar means of sustenance would undoubtedly prove detrimental to my existence. Yes I would try to find another source if that one was denied but how successful I would be is debatable.

Seals pee in the ocean, polluters every one! ;)

Where is this discussion going?

Where ever it leads. And its no more off topic than whether or not Custer miscalculated or was mislead. You do have the option to hit "next" at anytime.

No, don't think so. Its as equivalent as Al Gore's use of the polar bear floating on the ice berg....... Its what they do. Its called sunning. As he (Gore, not the bear) flys around in his private jet spewing kerosene exhaust. Yeap, jet fuel is basically hopped up kerosene, not refined gasoline.

The point is......its all hype with little fact. Al Gore swore the bears were doomed to extinction in short order. Fact = Polar bears have had an increase in numbers, birth rates and cub success; and overall health ratings.

To the dogs, or the bears in this case.
